CEPA Between Cambodia and the UAE Drives Trade Growth
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed between Cambodia and the UAE has shown initial results, with bilateral trade increasing by 5% year-on-year, reaching $91.14 million. Cambodia's exports to the UAE amounted to $67.7 million, while imports were $23 million, resulting in a trade surplus of $44.7 million. CEPA covers 97.8% of tariff items, significantly reducing tariffs and non-tariff barriers, and simplifying customs procedures to enhance the convenience of service trade. Additionally, CEPA has attracted UAE capital into Cambodia's tourism and infrastructure sectors, indicating a promising future for economic cooperation between the two countries.
