Techo International Airport – Cambodia’s New Gateway to the World, Shaping the Future of Aviation
Located 20 kilometers south of Phnom Penh and spanning 2,600 hectares, Techo International Airport is Cambodia’s largest infrastructure project to date. Designed by the renowned British architectural firm Foster + Partners, the airport draws inspiration from Cambodia’s rich history and culture, blending local architectural elements with modern sustainable concepts. The terminal features a vast roof supported by 36-meter-span “structural trees,” integrating natural light, lush greenery, and solar power to set a new benchmark for green airports. The project is being developed in three phases: upon completion of the first phase in 2025, the airport will accommodate 13 million passengers annually. At full scale, it is projected to handle 50 million passengers per year, ranking among the world’s top ten international airports. Classified as a 4F international aviation hub, it has also been recognized by CNN as one of the “Most Influential Buildings of 2025.”
More than just an aviation hub, Techo International Airport represents Cambodia’s new gateway to the world. It will inject strong momentum into the nation’s economic growth, tourism, trade, and investment, while redefining the aviation landscape of Southeast Asia.
