Cambodia's RCEP Trade Reaches $16.47 Billion in First Five Months.

Cambodia's trade with Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries reached $16.47 billion from January to May 2025, a 16.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Of this, Cambodia's exports to RCEP countries totaled $4.3 billion, an 8% increase, while imports amounted to $12.17 billion, rising 19.4%. Major trading partners include China, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, and Indonesia. The report indicates that RCEP not only promotes global trade but also creates a favorable environment for foreign investment. Preferential tariff policies attract more foreign capital, especially in manufacturing and infrastructure, further boosting economic growth. The agreement took effect in 2022 and encompasses 15 Asia-Pacific countries, bringing more opportunities to Cambodia.
